Day 1: Arrive in FES

Day 2: Full day to discover Fez.

DAY 3: FES – AZROU – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, departure towards the southeast through the Middle Atlas via “Ifrane la Suisse Marocaine” then Azrou where we will stop to Stop at the famous largest cedar forest in Morocco to see and play with Barbary apes. Day 4: Merzouga – Camel ride and night in a Berber tent

After breakfast at the Riad, you will begin to explore the region. You will visit the Gnawa – originally slaves brought from Sudan – to learn about their music and way of life. Not far away is Lake Merzouga, home to birds. You can also visit the souks of Rissani, a traditional town that was once home to Morocco’s ruling family and the caravans that traded to Timbuktu, Mali. Here you will see many hooded men and veiled women. Return to the village of Merzouga to rest, ride a camel in the afternoon and explore the interior of the Merzouga Sand Sea under the guidance of an experienced camel driver. The night will be in our desert camp where you will have dinner. For your comfort, the campsite is equipped with Western-style sanitary facilities.

 

Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Palm Brow of Tinghir – Dades Gorges

Early in the morning, your camel guide will wake you up to watch what could be the best sunrise of your life. After sunrise, you will return to the city of Merzouga. Along the way, you are sure to enjoy a unique view of the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes – which change over time. After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for Rissani, Tinghir and the Todra Gorge – the highest and narrowest canyon in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the canyon, we cross the Dades Valley where you will see majestic sandcastles and amazing rock formations called “monkeys”. Accommodation for the night will be in a luxury hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

 

Day 6: Dades Valley – KASBAH AMRIDIL – Skoura Palm Island – Ouarzazate

After breakfast at the hotel, we cross the Dades Valley to Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The road through the Dades Valley is the path of a thousand kasbahs – offering countless opportunities to take some of the best photos of your trip. We stop at Kalaat Mgouna, the “City of Roses”, to buy some rose water, which will keep your sheets fragrant long after your travels. Continue to Ouarzazate via Amridil Kasbah, one of the last Berber rulers of the 18th century, now home to many Glaouis. In the evening you will stop in Ouarzazate.

 

DAY 7: OUARZAZATE – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – TIZI N’TICHKA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast at the riad we head to the ksar (fortified village) Ait Ben Haddou to visit the famous Kasbah (declared by the United Nations in 1986 UNESCO World Heritage). Famous films have been filmed on this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, The Obelisk, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, The Sahara by Penelope Cruz… and more.

After visiting the Kasbah we will go to Marrakech where we will visit the port of Tizi Ntichka. 2,260 m is the highest point in our country. We will enjoy the beautiful scenery from the observation decks along the way and stop to take photos of the Berber villages before checking into a riad inside the medina in the late afternoon. Day 8: To Essaouira

After breakfast at your hotel, you will begin your journey to the coastal town of Essaouira. Get there after about 2.5 hours by car and start exploring the city. Stroll through the alleys of the medina and discover hundreds of handicrafts. The “Wind City” attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira has been home to many civilizations – including the Portuguese occupation which influenced much of its architecture – but it remains a city with a rich history. It is also considered the “Pearl of the Atlantic” of Morocco due to its size, distinctive blue doors and washed walls. You will also visit a women’s cooperative for argan oil. Day 9: Full day visit of Marrakech

Free day in Marrakech, visit all the places you have never visited: the Saadian Tombs, the magnificent Bahia Palace and the Ben Youssef Koranic school. Finally, end the morning with a stroll through the alleys of the medina – a chance to admire all the different artisans working on their craft before heading to the famous Jamaa El Fna square. Have lunch in a restaurant near the square, then spend the afternoon visiting the Majorelle Gardens with a short visit to Gueliz, the new city of Marrakech.
